It was in 1791 when Philippus Wolvaart acquired Klein Drakenstein farm from the Dutch East India Company and renamed it Nederburg.
The estate produces the Ingenuity Range, Manor House Range, Nederburg’ s Winemaster Reserve Range and Foundation Range. During the 2010 Fifa World Cup, three limited edition wines including a Cabernet Sauvignon, a dry Rosé, and a Sauvignon Blanc were made. Pair any of these wines with their mezze platters, picnics or gourmet seven-course meal with each dish paired with some of Nederburg’ s finest wines. You get great ideas of how to best partner wines with various foods and if you come in a group, Nederburg will award the designated driver with a gift pack in support of responsible drinking. Tour the farm, cellars and old Cellar Museum where you can witness the journey from 1791.
Annual events make this wine estate a premier place to visit, such as the Nederburg auction and Nederburg Concert series. Funds are raised for the Nederburg Charity Trust from the auction of the ‘Private Bin’ wines exclusively available on this evening and the latter event marks the end of the season in November with classical musicians from around the globe performing.
